Bernhard’s certified commissioning agents ensure that all systems are designed, installed, and operating per the owner’s requirements and standards through rigorous reivews and testing. Bernhard is a Certified Commissioning Firm (CCF) with the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA), a member of AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), and a registered Commissioning Firm with the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB).

High Performance Buildings

Our commissioning process is designed to ensure clients can achieve their goals in the most sustainable way possible.
Building Controls
The building automation system (BAS) or control system is the center of effective, energy efficient operation. Our commissioning approach emphasizes controls to ensure the installed system maintains ideal conditions within each space. We review programming line-by-line and collaborate directly with the controls contractor to test function and verify proper operation. Our attention to detail with controls ensures the BAS sustains efficient operation.
Measuring and Monitoring Performance
With a robust team of energy engineers and analysts, we can provide on-going analysis and support through energy performance measurement and verification reporting. Combined with commissioning, this reporting allows our team to help facility operators adjust and optimize the building and its systems. On-going and monitoring-based commissioning help to smooth the transition to occupancy and first years of operation.
