Bernhard provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural design services, energy modeling, measurement and verification plan development, commissioning, as well as construction administration services for the new, four-story facility.

The 71,000 square foot building includes a 360 advising studio, writing studio, classrooms, study labs, conference rooms, learning commons for tutoring and peer academic mentoring, a faculty support center, and a dining hall. The facility is a hub for student support services located in the heart of campus.

The university has a goal to achieve LEED certification on construction projects on campus and the design team incorporated many sustainable features, including a unique chilled beam HVAC system. The facility opened in January 2022 and is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification.
