Ochsner chose to partner with Bernhard after the successful project at Ochsner’s Flagship campus in New Orleans. Considering the tight timeline with which Ochsner was expecting to open the new facility, the coordination of design and construction of the heavy trades was critical to the success of the project. With Energy Asset Concession project structure, Bernhard was able to streamline design and construction activities seamlessly with the larger facility’s progress.

The greenfield site for Ochsner High Grove is between a new residential development and the busiest highway serving Baton Rouge. Site logistics and weather were the greatest challenges to the construction schedule, but the Design-Build team was able to make up considerable time in order to meet the January 2019 opening of the facility.

Bernhard is providing an energy savings guarantee for the full term of the project by implementing O&M operator training, measurement and verification and remote support services.
