Adventist Health has embarked on a transformative 30-year Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) partnership with Bernhard. Marking the largest project of its kind in U.S. history, the partnership ensures a 20% reduction in annual utility costs for Adventist Health, strengthening the network’s energy reliability, resiliency, and sustainability. Backed by $457 million in initial funding, these savings will drive vital energy infrastructure improvements across the system.

By aligning with Bernhard, Adventist Health can reinvest savings into core initiatives, enhancing patient care while advancing its sustainability goals. A prime example includes a 61.1% reduction in purchased electricity at Adventist Health Glendale, alongside a 63.7% reduction in Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions.

“Partnering with Bernhard aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire health, wholeness, and hope. The significant cost savings and environmental benefits we will realize through this initiative allow us to reinvest in our core mission-focused initiatives, ultimately enhancing the care we provide to our communities.”

“This framework is a revolutionary solution to the healthcare industry that provides benefits in energy cost savings, reduced carbon emissions and improved resiliency of our infrastructure to support patient care and support future strategic growth.”
