Chris Benson Named Vice President of Emerging Technologies to Drive Innovation and Decarbonization

With 19 years of industry experience, including eight years with Bernhard, Chris will now lead the investigation and implementation of new technologies across Bernhard’s Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) customer portfolio. In his expanded role, he will spearhead efforts to generate and prioritize innovative technical solutions that enhance customer value through economic savings and increased resiliency.

Chris will continue to identify and collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization, supporting the Development Segment and the Engineering Division within the Delivery Segment in competitive procurement and acting as a technical resource to help customers achieve their decarbonization goals.

Chris’s exemplary leadership and vision are invaluable assets as Bernhard continues to advance its mission in the evolving technological landscape.


Garrett Hensley Promoted to Senior Financial Analyst to Lead Financial Modeling

In his new role, Garrett will lead the financial modeling team, manage team scheduling and resource allocation for EaaS deliverables, and support leadership with project pipeline reporting needs. Garrett has over 12 years in the industry, including a decade at Bernhard.

Garrett’s impressive portfolio includes notable projects such as Ochsner, LCMC, CHRISTUS, Midland, and EAH. A 2012 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a BA in Marketing, bringing a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight to his expanded responsibilities.

 

 

Curt Poff promoted to Senior Financial Analyst

With over nine years of experience, Curt’s new role will focus on maintaining and updating the technical aspects of the financial modeling team, including templates, model standardization, and quality control and assurance. He will continue to contribute to the development of EaaS financial models.

Curt’s inquisitive leadership has been instrumental across various EaaS  projects, leaving a significant imprint on all transactions at Bernhard. As a graduate of Hendrix College with a BA in Economics and Business and an MA in Accounting, Curt’s expertise and dedication are set to foster further innovation within the financial modeling team.

 

Bernhard Expands Mechanical Services to Northern Utah

Bernhard is expanding its service offerings in Utah with the launch of a new mechanical services team. Operating out of its Salt Lake City office, Bernhard will offer a comprehensive range of mechanical services to clients across the Wasatch Front, including annual preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, chillers, and cooling towers, along with equipment repair and replacement services.

The expansion aims to serve a wide range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, hospitality, higher education, government, and more. With this offering, Bernhard will build on its well-established presence in Utah, where it has been providing energy engineering and commissioning services to clients such as the University of Utah, University of Utah Health, Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, Utah Valley University, and Brigham Young University.

“The addition of the Utah service team will complement our current offerings, allowing us to better serve our customers while continuing to expand in the region,” said Michael Cooper, Division President of Sustainability.

Bernhard’s expanded presence in Utah comes at a strategic time, with the Winter Games set to return to Salt Lake City in 2034. The expansion is expected to create new career opportunities and foster relationships with local companies, further solidifying the firm’s role as a key player in the region’s infrastructure development, operations, and maintenance.
