This project involved the design, engineering, procurement and construction of a 500 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Switchyard. The scope of construction was to install a control building to contain the 500 kV GIS, as well as an overhead crane and control equipment. Outdoor equipment included four 500 kV breakers, all related disconnect switches, bus work, cable installation, duct bank and grounding. The scope also included the interconnection of the new substation with the Tratebel Generating Facility.
