Bernhard Energy Solutions™ provided construction services for the Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. The campus consists of three buildings housing the main hospital, support buildings and central plant. The 589,000-square-foot project included 330 patient rooms, seven operating rooms, seven C-Section rooms, NICU and 14,580 square feet of laboratories.
Bernhard™ was selected to be a part of the project team during the early stages of design, and met with the owners and consultants to provide input in the design. During the two-year design process, Bernhard™ and the rest of the project team generated over $2 million of value-engineering opportunities which were incorporated in the project. Numerous innovations were incorporated, including design splits on the plant and air-side equipment, air design of duct distribution, use of alternate materials and revisions to the specifications.
