Bernhard has a robust internal training and apprenticeship program to teach our employees the knowledge and skills they need to safely do their jobs. All employees in our electrical construction division have the opportunity to earn a Journeyman certification through an ABC-certified program. The program is coordinated through the division’s Safety Director and taught by an experienced foreman.

Commercial
Our commercial electrical construction group focuses on conventional construction and design build projects of any scope and size, including retail establishments, schools, hospitals, government building installations, and more. The team’s capabilities include complete wiring of new commercial projects, as well as renovations to existing facilities.
Communication
We offer a full range of data, fiber, voice and video cabling infrastructure installation, design and maintenance for projects large and small. With experienced BICSI trained technicians and RCDD on staff, quality workmanship is paramount.
Utility
Bernhard provides complete substation installations including site preparation, fencing, foundations, structure erection (wood, steel, and concrete), electrical equipment installation, wire pulling, conductor testing, buss work, concrete pull boxes, duct banks, HV and control wiring, control building, stone surfacing, and line commissions up to 500 kv. Our utility packages also include steel, switches, circuit breakers, and medium voltage metal-clad switchgear. Our capabilities include heavy haul and equipment, relay testing, wiring and relay check out.
Industrial and Traffic
We perform I&E packages of all sizes from small lift stations to large scale multiple pump water control structures. Our staff are trained in instrumentation and control, turn arounds, hazardous classification installation, industrial equipment connection, check out, and testing.
Transportation-related work is also part of our core business, including such as complete illumination of streets and highways utilizing Low Mast, High Mast, as well as Decorative LED lighting, complete electrical installation and integration of movable bridges, all types of traffic signalization from solar controlled School Cross walks to 75’ mast arm traffic signals, and complete installation and integration of Intelligent Traffic Systems including CCTV RVD, and Dynamic Message Boards which communicate via long haul fiber backbone. Our DOT staff members maintain Certifications such as Traffic Control Technician, Traffic Control Supervisor, and IMSA Traffic Controller Level I and Level II.
